Hockey Memorabilia and Collectibles

Hockey Memorabilia - Sports Memorabilia Online - Columbus, GAWhen Al Michael's stated as the United States beat the mighty power Soviet Union in the 1980 Olympics, "Do you believe in Miracles?" it signified the beginning of hockey in America.   It was a time when a rag tag group of college age young men, coached by Herb Brooks, took on a bunch of professionals from Russia and then went on to win the gold medal game and hockey became "mainstream" in the United States.  The NHL started to grow during the 1980's and 1990's.   It was fun to go to the hockey games and see players with missing teeth or see players get matching major penalties for fighting.   Sports Memorabilia Online brings a great collection of hockey memorabilia and collectibles for the hockey fan in your life.

The NHL started to take off after those 1980 Olympics, mostly because of the "Great One", Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers.   Gretzky was so smooth and could put the puck in the net with ease.   He played for 20 years and was on four Stanley Cup winning teams with Edmonton in the 1980's.   Then in the mid 1990's are rivalry was born.   During the 1996 Stanley Cup playoffs, the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche, both teams loaded with superstars, created some "can't miss" moments that you had to see to believe.   Claude Lemeuix blasting Kris Draper into a metal posts at the player box area and Draper was bloddied up basically started up the hatred between the teams.   Then there fights between the goalies, Patrick Roy with both Craig Osgood and Mike Vernon in different years.   With players such as Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg for the Avs and Steve Yzerman and Sergei Federov for the Red Wings, creating great hockey, the rivalry was never the same after the strike season.    Now we have superstars such as Sidney Crosby for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Alexander Ovechkin for the Washington Capitals.

Hockey fans are very passionate about the game.   For you man cave or "ice-fishing hut", we have some great plaques and framed banners.    For  you home or office, we have these great framed prints that would be perfect to show off to  your hockey buddies.
